I didn't see the original, but this version seems to have a good range from dark to light, so I'd say your were successful!

Ownership of land is, at best, a useful human fiction.
The range between sunshine, & shadow is too extreme to be captured correctly by camera gaelijet.
The shadow in the foreground leading to the left is still far too dark while the sky is a tad too bright !! Be pleased with your C-index

From the technical point of view, as far as the dynamic range not an easy scenery to capture. But in my opinion what maybe the reason for not that much satsfying c-index is the choice of the scenery, which is quite ordinary. I suggest you come back to this place (early morning or late afternoon) to look for some interesting light effects which make the park more mood-evoking.
