I just can't agree with the last comment. The range of tones and exquisite detail that is in this image but isn't showing here, is undoubtedly why you shot this in the first place.
If you apply some positive Gamma, a slight bit of contrast, and a measure of Sharpening it will recover some of the tonal range and detail, but processing itthrough the hdr plugin is even better as the tonal range is far more extensive than shown here. It's a beautiful shot with great subtle tonal differences throughout the entire frame and nicely balanced.
For me, in viewing the image, I notice that the rule of thirds (a rule which I have broken in the past) is being ignored. The big thing for me is that the upper half is so dark... and that perhaps were the rule of thirds applied, less water and more sky would reduce the 'oppressive' feeling I get when viewing. I do know that there are different sentiments attached to pictures we take (view) but this image would not be a keeper for me (composition-wise) had I taken it. Sometimes a little cropping helps but I didn't have that in mind while viewing. I think this may be more a sentiment picture rather than an artistic image... but then what do I know? :o)
