If I may, Gael.. think a portrait orientation might work a lil' better?

As opposed to the landscape orientation and presentation here.

I like the vivid and natural colours you captured of the bird.

Exposure is ok.

Bear in mind that I am viewing your photo here on a CRT monitor, so.. appears a lil' dark. Bird's body starts to become one with the water, to my eyes and monitor.

So.. some loss of detail there and from my perspective.

My preference?

Faster shutter speed ... not as much blur in the motion of the wings.

But..

If the exposure was adjusted, may be fine as is.

My point about the portrait orientation relates to the composition.

Just my opinion ... it looks like you 'forced' (not the right word, mind you) a landscape orientation ... when, and again, in my opinion and as mentioned/suggested above ... think a portrait would have more impact.

Given, the bird's posture/stance.

And that there is not much visual interest to the right. (You could still retain some of the nice reflections on the water, just crop some.)

So.. like it a little more than a little. ;o)

Definitely a different and unique presentation, from that of a 'simple' shot of the bird.
