There actually are a lot of birds at 10,500 feet. We were almost at the timberline, but saw nuthatches, chickadees, clark's nutcrackers, orange crowned warblers, ravens, a peregrine falcon, juncos and more. I had to chase this guy around for awhile as I was only armed with my D2X and a 100-300mm zoom. Needless to say I am set at 300mm.

Amazing clarity for full zoom Garrett. A great pose and studio where you captured "your little chickadee." Detail is really good.

Nice image, Garrett. We saw lots of these while camping out in the "sticks" in N. Calif. last month. We were at 4200 feet. Your composition on this one is fantastic.
