Coopers Hawks are birds that catch and eat other smaller birds. To catch a bird in flight requires lightening fast reflexes. As a result Coopers Hawks and their allies (Accipiters) tend to be very high strung. In the winter they seem to be more visible. In fact there was one in our front yard checking out our bird feeder. At any rate, I caught this one in the top of a tree at my favorit spot a couple of weeks ago. A point of interest is their red eyes.

It was really nice of you to set a trap for his dinner. LOL. Very smart bird. Great capture I really like the angle you shot him from.

I too like the angle Garrett. The information is good as well. It does look ready for action. Good post.

A wonderful close-up Garrett and outstanding detail. It's great to be able to feel this close to a hawk.

Wow.. the texture and patterns to his feathers are so eye-catching, Garrett! I also like the perspective and colours very much, especially the red in his eyes! Excellent work as always! :)

Excellent close up with a refreshing and different pose. I too am captivating by it's eye color and details. I don't have a bird feeder, might be a good enough reason to get one... lol
