I finally got a chance to go out and shoot some images and as luck would have it, it was a very windy day and everything was all blown out. The little birds were no where to be seen, so I had to focus my sights on the big birds. I was working on a group of Widgeon, when out of the Blue, this heron flew straight at me only to turn away at the last minute. I do not think that it initially saw me and veered off when it finally did. At any rate its error when my good fortune.

This bird really did give you a great pose and really good on your part to be ready for it. Great colors and detail.

Great, great image, Garrett. It takes more than being in the right place at the right time to create such a beautiful photo. Thanks for my desktop.

Stunning looking photography and i love the shadow reflection under the wings.Plus the sunlight on the birds head and under it wings and rump illuminant the bird real nicely. Well done to a truly professional photography.

Its error was definitely your good fortune Garrett. Your skill with the camera made the most of the good fortune.

He does look too happy to see you in his spot. Your good luck paid off with a great shot of this guy.
