Good to know that the Red Winged blackbird is back - that surely is a positive sign of things to come!!! This is a gorgeous capture Garrett - he is nicely posed perhaps in search for a mate. Well Done - Excellent!!!:-):-):-)!!!
Why would they leave your climate, Garrett? You get the shot like I try to get but never achieve. The detail is amazing. The tree bark adds more then first meets the eye. Superb.
Fav'd your photo here, Garrett.. to provide a cue/prompt to come back and place some words.
(Well, one reason, anyway.)
I am most impressed with the detail (and clarity) you achieved, given the black feathers on this fine specimen. Captured the subtle gradations very well (as an understatement).
If this is straight out of your camera.. take a bow (or two). Displays wonderfully on my monitor.. and then some.
Great looking close up of the beautiful looking bird it would be great to see them in the UK are black bird is all black apart from it's beak and legs the beak is orange .The colour in the wing flash is amazing and so vivid looking and I love the smooth wood that the bird is perched on too.
Garrett - I'm hoping the arrival of migratory birds is a good omen for warmer weather. The lighter, blurred background offers great contrast for the red-wing blackbird. The details you have in the dark feathering is wonderful. Kudos!
Love this excellent close up and detail, really like the way the red feathers are so soft and fluffy looking plus the way the colour goes from red to a orange. It will be some time before they come this far north, still way tooooo much snow. Right into my fav
