This is a picture that I took this past October along the shores of Lake Erie. These are Turkey Vultures...not the prettiest bird around, but they are big.

Nice capture Jerry, we used to see these flying around quite often when we lived in Oakville.

Scary birds Gerry! ....but excellent capture - they look quite menacing and I can see they are awaiting a kill - they have eyes in every direction!

I guess everything in life has a purpose and does its job, but yikes! are these babies ugly. This is a great capture, and it shows off their ugliness to an unprecedented clarity, but I'm glad I have the relief of the tree and that gorgeous blue sky to offset the ugly...yuck :)

no such thing as "ugly"-a very judgmental comment...a bit blurry on my desktop.it is that blue which attracts my attention more

They do strike quite a pose though. Great capture of them, Gerry.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
