This is a really excellent exposure. It is great how the colors of the bird meld with those of its surroundings. Beautiful capture Gerald.

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

What a beautiful mourning dove. I don't think I've ever seen one with blue on it. The sky really helps those feathers stand out! Great shot to look at, Jerry!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Very very nice, Jerry. I bet you didn't have to do much enhancing at all, and thanks again for posting your settings. Itt's definintely one of the most colorful of doves that I've ever seen. His mourning clothes look great on him.

There is such wonderful depth to this picture Gerry. The bird is a delight. I hope he was pleased there was a photo expert to take his portrait, and stopped mourning for a while.\
A most excellent picture.

Your 70-300 zoom lens works perfectly! The contrast with the dark blue background is beautiful.

Beautiful Gerry. I've never seen one with such beautiful colors as this one. I keep trying to take them around my house where there are lots but they are all a dull grey and not 'in fashion' at all. This is really stunning.

This is a very lovely shot Gerry - great detail and lighting on the dove and a very complementary background. We have the Collared Dove which is a similar looking species, but way too flighty to allow a close enough approach for a great image like yurs!
Cheers,
Steve.
