I am uploading a couple of pictures taken a few months back. The first is of a Damselfly. I got up one morning and there was a mist (fog) in the air so took camera and headed out to swamp area to take pictures. This is what I found. It give me chance to use macro facility on Tamron 70-300 zoom lens..I looked this damselfly up in a website on nature and find it is an Eastern Forktail Damselfly which are quite common..

Is this a now a late Damsalfly Gerry ? :o)
Another great macro upload I wouldn't be surprised if u took this shot within a few minutes of "Preying Mantis" Presentation is good, and the very minor noise doesn't fuss me at all.

Life's around said Phil the 35 millimetre cameraman. I recently went to the doctors, and said I've got icon fever, but he told me there was no cure for the disease.

Yup, that macro works well! Damselfly may be common, but not so your photo. The water drops in conjuction with the lovely fly make quite an impressive shot.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

That is a good capture for a 300mm lens. The water drops add to it very well, thank you for the description too.

I tried to get a picture of these guys and they all turned out horribly! I'm very impressed that you got this with that lens. Great job. Colours are great and the water drops are a nice touch.

Great job..and it's so nice to see your uploads. I have the same lens you do and I know its strengths and weaknesses, and I think you did a credible job here.

Hey Gerry, nice to see you posting again! this one is beautiful - I never thought of insects as beautiful until I saw some of the macro photos at Caedes - love the angle with the insect and leaf going from one corner to the other!
