There's a look to the water that gives this photo a dreamlike effect. It look's like the hen is picturing her favorite drake in her dreams. I swear she's smiling. I believe the Drake has a little sneer as well. I didn't know ducks dreamed but I do now. Great photo.

A handsome pair - such lovely colours the male has. they are regarded as an 'invasive species' here in NZ.
Our local duck pond always has an increased population of them during the duck shooting season - they are not stupid :)

Nice shot Gerry, I hope they are still there by the time I am able to get there. I found another group of them by the way, down on the riverfront on the west side. Geese and several different ducks, they were there two weeks ago, but I have not been back since then.

Well, we can add this delightful beauty to the wall with the others. Nice work, Gerry.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

What a fine pair of ducks these are Gerry
It's okay to go quakers over these entertaining birds. My personal favourite is still "Mallard 1" though, perhaps this indicates I enjoy my own company too much !!
