Took this picture yesterday afternoon out at Objibway Nature Preserve. First time I have been out there in a week. This is a Dark-Eyed Junco...small songbird...
What a name. Sounds like something from a RONCO infomercial. Chubby little fellow, He sure has a death grip on that seed.
That graduated blue frame is very complimentary to that expertly done photograph.
I'm glad to see the Junco is out of Rehab. He looks like he's glad to be free. Another great page for the book. Love the winter colors of bird and surroundings. Great photo, Gerry.
Once in a while if we get lucky one of these guys will show up around here. I'm glad to hear that you were able to get out and about and that the weather is better. I hate being cooped up like I am now and not be able to take pics! ♫ PJ ♫
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon

Thank you for the lovely shot of one my my favorite birds.
Juncos overwinter here in NC, and their vocalizations have become one of my favorite signs of winter.
My cats love to watch them through the French Doors too!
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.
