Another picture of Screech Owl taken early friday morning...again with her eyes wide open. I have been told there is a fair population of these Owls in this Nature Preserve. I thought of going out at night in late winter and listen for them and then going back during day to where I heard them and look for them as they do tend to perch in same spot. Alas I did not do this..yet anyway. Fortunate to find this one nesting as it would take a lot of diligence to find them in bush.

Another great one Gerry. It is hard to pick between the two but I think I prefer the first. Look forward to seeing the young screechers.

I like this one the best. I can't tell you why, but perhaps I can see him with his eye wide open a little bit better, or perhaps he was checking you out a bit more closely. You're lucky to find these birds, Mr. P...just great!

Two great uploads here Mr P. :o)
You go to a lot of trouble to get these fine shots, but likewise you are fortunate to be close to such a wonderful wildlife reserve.
Well done Gerry .. double + good

A little red head peering from within the brances. Nicely captured without causing a stir, Gerry.

Spectacular shot, the folliage gives perfect lighting and you've framed the shot well with the branches. I think that she knows you're here and she's letting you know that she sees you. Althoug the expression in her eyes seems to suggest that she also knows that you won't harm her. Amazing image.
