I spent the whole afternoon out in the perfect weather ( 72.0 degrees with a nice breeze)just enjoying spring. As the sun started to move west I came across this tree facing west, it looked as though the tree was unhappy with the day ending so soon. I on the other hand, was happy to find out that this picture turned out to be more than it seemed.

I love the contrast of the gorgeous sky and the "evil" lookiing tree. Just my opinion, but brightening up the sky, or saturating the sky a bit more with blue-ness might make the pic pop more. Nonetheless, it is a great photo.

Oh yeah, VERY grumpy tree there. Maybe it's so unhappy because most of it was cut down. I like the contrast too of the obviously sun-drenched sky with Mr. Grumpy. If it had a voice I bet it would sound just like the nasty apple tree in Wizard of Oz. :-)))

Hi Tim,

The object and the angle of the picture is good.
You could have a more dramatic effect if you chose a lower position so you only have the tree and the sky and nothing else. The colour could need boost of saturation and the tree is a little dark.
I love your insect pictures! "the day of the dragon" is a beauty... I know how hard it is to make such a shot.
I also like your landscapes with dramaric clouds and light.
