The next photo will be the Kaskelot...Kaskelot is the flagship of the Square Sail fleet and is based out of her homeport of Charlestown, Cornwall, UK (though registered to Bristol). She is a three-masted barque and one of the largest remaining wooden ships in commission. The Kaskelot was built in 1948 by J. Ring Andersen for the Royal Greenland Trading Company and brought supplies to remote coastal settlements in East Greenland. During the 1960s, Kaskelot worked as a support vessel for fisheries in the Faroe Islands. Square Sail purchased her in 1981, then renovated her, redesigning and re-rigging her to replicate the Terra Nova. She has been used for filming movies, and is also used for sail training programme.

A wonderful presentation Roger! The photo is crisp and colorful. Thanks for the history of this ship also. This I think would make an excellent jig-saw puzzel! Nice work..

A lovely looking scene and nice capture of the harbour. Nice textures in the stonework and great looking dramatic sky. Good work on the photo and a nice narrative,

Think about the photo before and after, never during. The secret is to take your time. You mustn't go too fast. The subject must forget about you. Then, however, you must be very quick. Henri Cartier-Bresson

Nicely done, and interesting place to see. Too bad more boats weren't showing, but I'll wait for your next post.
