Marvellous colours and light. There's a great sense of movement to this - a kind of slow, cyclic movement in, perhaps, the depths of the ocean but high enough for some sunlight still to filter through...

Hi Gemma... this is a nice apop flame.. you can do so much with flames like this, try moving triangles around, change the values in the variations eg.. linear to 1 etc.. you'll be surprised what you can get out of it.. *the undo button is your best friend.. =)*
The colours are a good choice, the only thing i noticed was a little grain.. you can get rid of this by adjusting the shadows and highlights, * just be careful you dont over do it.. also try rendering at least 1600 x 1200 or higher, that gives it a better quality too..
apart from that you did well.. =)
Putting your pictures in my favorites is the highest honor I can give you. If I do not get to your pictures as soon as you post them, I apologize. I try. Also if I do not respond for awhile it doesn't mean I'm ignoring you, it just means I'm really tied up with life.
You have ... once again ... presented a very apt title and concept to your collective viewing audience.
The colour gradient that you used is perfect and immediately conjures up an image brought up from the depths of the ocean. Good choice there.
And the more I let this one sit before me ... the more I see in your image here. Gentle tides and currents swirling and forming the star shape ... the proverbial star of your flame.
Nice work. And but of course ... thank you for sharing. :o)
