This is a rare photograph of something precious, I took this shot on the 11th of June. The family were moving quickly, & disappeared from view after scrambling onto the bank.

The Nene maybe a very endangered Goose but remember the late Sir Peter Scott of the WWT saved them from extinction in the 50's. :o) You can adopt an endangered species if you are concerned, & want to help see them survive just like me, & it won't burn a hole in your pocket either. :o)

As a side note you maybe interested to know Sir Peter Scott was the only son of Robert Falcon Scott / Captain Scott of Antarctica the well known leader of the ill fated Terra Nova expedition!

They are going for a family swim. That great. That water is pretty neat. I love the color. Oh, you didn't say whether that was the George Nene, or the Stanley Nene family. LOL.

Well spotted and caught before they disappeared. They look really lovely. Their beaks always looked neat and not too big, unlike some geese. Fav'd and thanks for sharing this precious scene with us on caedes!

Good question Cindy
The answer is no I'm a traditional photographer, & simply cannot compete, & win against the colourful, & dramatic raw crowd. :o(

One of your better fowl shots Phlossie. Must have The Duke (duck) seal of approval. Is that a oxymoron. Liked the links and I remeber the movie about Captain Scott. Canada started an organization (Ducks Unlimited) that spread to the U.S. and it does a lot for the water fowl. Have a good week.
