Yes it's a sarcastic title.

This derelict old flour mill hasn't ground seed to flour for about 30 years now readers. It's on Avonmouths Royal Portbury dock, & due to it's poor location it will never be converted into yuppy type dockside apartments.

The authorities won't pull it down or renovate it for business, nor will they lease it to a homeless / crisis charity. :o( But instead the Bristol Port Company has chosen to leave it to rot, & pay the costs of lost revenue themselves.

Travel back in time to 1981 when the Specials had something to say about a ghost town.

A good image of something rather sad and forgotton. It's shame they won't do something with this old building. The video shows all too well what we see across the country in the cities.

In another 100 years, they will be talking about the ruins of the flour mill. Don't they ever tear anything down over there? LOL. Nice shot.

Such a sad waste of a building. As you say it could be used for so many worthwhile things. A very thought provoking capture.

I hate to see such a building go to waste... maybe it is a tax write off... yes it could be used for low cost housing...very nice shot and it does gives you a lot to think about:)

Great shot Phlossie and I faved it. I like the stark look with the fire escape appearing to only go halfway and then a ladder. I bet that was the bosses office. The slate gray suits the mood and meaning of this photo very well. Great post.

:( They could bring it down very expeditiously with well placed explosives just like....oh, never mind. Sure appears to be a very tall building, Phil. Lots of buildings like this throughout New England. I wonder if China will look like this someday.

Great job Plossie. I like the old building. It has a lot of character and looks lonely. To bad they wont lease it.

Here they would have blown it up and built a modern hotel or casino. Thanks for sharing all.
