In Austria each year I buy a little wooden sculpture handmade.. I give it my parents for taking care of my birds during my vacation. So I do enjoy this post! Mich

I like this. There is a man who came from somewhere (I don't know where) who carved beautiful birds of the live oaks that died from salt water following Hurricane Katrina along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He has eagles and pelicans, beautiful work. The birds sit along the highway as a monument to his caring and beautiful talent.

At least it isn't a massacre Phlossie. Nice post of a man at work. I have seen some amazing works carved with a chainsaw.

A totally amazing skill. Somehow I see it as a man's art though I'm sure some women are skilled with a chainsaw. Am I being sexist? I like your shot.

From the looks of the ones behind him, he is a pro at that. Thanks for sharing this, Phil.
