i couldn't believe that i actually captured this gorgeous white crane in flight!!! usually in south central kansas (wichita), there are lots of white cranes and blue herons. there have been even more with the excessive rain. this crane had been "fishing" in an overflow ditch.

Very cool! I only wish the size of the picture were bigger. If it were you could crop the photo better which would really draw the eye even more to the crane. I agree with the comment above though, the lighting and colors are awesome. Very pleasant! Good job.

very nice photo of a hard to get shot. the background is a bit dark which helps bring out the subject a bit more. but overall a nice shot.

reasons i did not crop it further . . . i was impressed with the bird's form so close to the ground -- a line could be drawn from his beak to his feet; was having a rotten day and the sight of him and a cloud free sky put things into perspective :)
