It was sunny, but below freezing. If you look at the right side of the photo, you can see how the spray froze to the vegitation along the canyon wall. The sun caught the spray to create the rainbow.

What a great capture of this beautiful scenery. Love the rainbow over the waterfall and just the whole image is breathtaking, almost as if out of a book or fairyland. This is a 10/10 for me :) Into my fav's this goes.

I love shooting the Mts. and waterfalls in Centeral Oregon, especially around the McKenzie River. Of course my favorite time of year is fall. So many of my images are shot within 100 miles of there. Sahalie Falls are indeed very beautiful and I have shot it often.
I like your capture of it and the rainbow really adds zip to it.
