Great composition here. The colors are wonderfully scattered throughout the image. The Japanese Maple tree takes center stage, but there is so much more to feast the eyes on. The lantern appears to have been there a long time. I love the varigated shades of green also. It gives the image not only great interest but also great depth. I can image how pleasant it is to sit near here and gaze quietly at the beauty. Good colors, quality, clarity and composition. Thanks :~)

Hey there! Well, ya got me on this one, I've never yet been able to go to the Buchart Gardens...but I've heard people talk about them. You got a lovely shot here..I especially like the way the little greenery, moss etc, peeks out from beneath the big stuff...right at the waterline...and I love ferns...when I was in the Redwood Forest, tiny ferns were sprouting out of huge dead trees...so gorgeous! I also like how you have been able to get little touches of flowers here and there peeking out so sweetly.I bet there are tons of benches to sit on too. You just did an overall beautiful photo here..captured many colours of green and those Japanese Maples are so elegant...all this, plus the water running thru it...how very beautiful!! Thanx my friend for this pretty garden photo.By the way, is that a person I see in the distance?.....verena

This is magnificent. It was nice of the gardner to take such lovely care of this place so that is was ripe for snapping. All potentials realized--yours in the capture.

Yesterday's history. Tomorrow's a mystery. Today's a gift. That's why it's called the present.

Uhm, yes, that's a person back by the rhodedendrons. While there were several monks wondering through before I took this shot, I believe that's really a kid back there. the monks woulda been better, huh?

Beautiful shot. I worked at B.G. when I first arrived in Victoria in '93, and now I live just a few minutes away. You perfectly captured one of my favourite spots at the Gardens. Well done!
