Ripple Effect?

I spent several shots just trying to get the drop as it hit the water. Was always just a split second behind. But here is the ripple just afterward. It was a cloudy day, which helped to diffuse the light. Then I took it into Core Fun House on the computer and manipulated it some. It is best seen at the large size. Hope you like it.

I like the way you caught the ripple effect, and I'm sure it was VERY hard to do. I also like the differing stones and the textures on them, but I'm not one for changing the colors a whole lot, although you did tell us that's what you did, so maybe you intended for it to look like a painting and not a photo? Anyway, it's a very nice post :)PJ

Man, this reminds me of Senior year physics class in high school. All we did the first semester was play around with 'wave' tanks! It sure looks like it was tricky to pull off. Maybe you should have had another pair of hands helping you so you could concentrate on just taking the shot. Nicely composed elements.

How unusual and creative - your style! I see the ripples; you're right about it being good lighting for catching those in the water. Distinctive and very well done! - Patty
