This is a cobb bench I ran across while walking in a another city one day. While you can see that some of it consists of rock, brick, and tile, the majority of the bench is cobb construction: straw covered with a mud-like substance and then colored. If you check in my gallery of photos, you'll find one called Light From Above. That's an entire cobb building. In any case, I like this bench, available on the sidewalk for anyone to use. And you'll notice the handrest on the right is higher than the one on the left, so it can be used as a headrest should one want to lay down on the bench.

This was quite a lesson for me. I've never heard of a cobb construction and I'm wondering how it holds up in the rain :) Your clarity and color is very nicely presented here, I might add. I'm not sure that the stone would make a very comfy pillow, but what a thoughtful touch to add to a public bench. I'm off to your gallery now to see the building you mentioned. You've got me intrigued :) thanks :)PJ
