Fountainbleau is about 40 minutes by train outside of Paris and is a very lovely, quaint village. It's centerpiece is the Chataeu de Fontainbleau, a palace used by several of the kings and emperors of France. It was here that Napoleon I signed his abdication papers before being exiled to Elba. This room was the bedroom of the queen/empresses. Quite the bed, eh? Not sure I could sleep here will that noise on the wall...LOL. Fountainbleau, France; July, 2016.

---Not sure I could sleep here with that noise on the wall---

As the empresses has passed away 'some time' ago, think that the above quote is meant figuratively, Ted.

Splendid capture of the 'grandeur' of that era.

Wow this room is "busy!" whatever floated their boat I guess, but I would have chosen another wall design. Very nice capture!

Long before the white man and long before the wheel, when the dark green forests were too silent to be real. Lightfoot 1967
