Edit of Klas' White Orchid... Klas pointed out that id managed to merge part of the background flower with the focal-flower.. so heres the image as nature intended... Ive also made a small tutorial on how i made this edit.. HERE
Now this is just one heck of an edit! Wow! Looks like a lot of work. :) It's a really cool approach to the starter image. I'm good at shooting light and fair photos... But my editing heart is dark and beats to a different rhythm. ^_^ Way cool! I sometimes wonder how you come up with all your editing techniques. It can take me hours up to days to get started on a new, fresh editing angle...
Grim, i was wondering y u sent me my own comment from the previous post.....& silly ol' me deleted it thinking other silly things. so unless u have it & u can post it again, it wont sound the same. sorry dude, really busy at work, & men are not particularly good at multi-tasking. but thats beside the point. i didnt see any fault b4. & this is wicked. lovely contrast on the grainy areas that brings full focus on the vivid colours of the moth like shape of the orchid, which looks like a moth, irrisistably attracted to a black flame. beautiful edit Grim.nice handi work : )
lol.. you fool... my message was very clear.i told you right at the start why i had sent it to you... never mind... lol.. it must still be too early in the day for you.. :D thanks for re-commenting..heres what he said before...
..like a moth to a black flame, the grain on the backdrop is wicked, there is a photographer who does bw, he uses a lot of grain , i forget his name but the contrast is very noir...not that im pretending to be a pretentious art critic or anything : p but i like it the blur & the grain throw the rest of the image back bring full attention to the moth/flutterby, which is crispy & rich in colour. very beautiful edit Grim, hats off to ye :D
Thank you Klas... i couldn't have made the image without your image in the first place..i had 5 hours to think about how i was going to do it as i went to work just after you said i could do an edit... lol and wonder no more about how i do it.. as i have just posted a Tutorial on how i made this image :)
Thanks for the turorial Graeme. :D I'm really glad you did this edit. It is such a beauty!
Pierre, you should try editing some time. It takes a lot of patience when you are a beginner like me. (But then again you may not be as alow as me. ^_^) I still basically make very much better photos than I do edits... It's still very much fun to mock about, and one learns some things that can be used to enhance ordinary photos too I think. I'd love to see some edit from you. ;-)
This is a nice "headline" for an art-work/image site...İ liked a lot that you made this kind of work...İ expect more from every one...İ will try to make one too,if i can find something that i am good on ;)...Thanks Grimbug...
You made a very good tutorial and this is the wonderful end result...excellent! The black orchid area is outstanding - and the colored one is beautiful. Outstanding work you've done here. High marks!
