this is an early morning phot of my last ship, hms somerset. taken in the northern arabian gulf, about 16 miles off the coast of iraq last year. i didnt take this image, it was taken by the ships photographer, L(phot) dave griffiths, on a nikon D1X. i thought i had lost the cd of phots from that deployment, but just found it again, so ill be posting some more stuff soon. hope u like...

Great shot. I love the way you placed the light just over the bridge (I think). It reminds me of my old assignment, USS Patterson. I can recall mornings just like this. I seem to remember that this ship's predecessor (HMS Somerset) swung in the Boston harbor the day the American war of independence began. Thanks for the beautiful shot of a subject too often ignored on this site - warships.

Hi Gareth....my wife loves the sea, it reminds her of liquid chocolate. As for myself, I'm ex Royal Navy and this pic takes me back a bit. Great shot.... Tony.

Great and very dramatic shot. This is perfect. It reminds when my brother was in the army, when he took shots of ships at sea. Thank so much for sharing this. :)
