The background is the whole picture with a 'radial blur' effect and darkned a little. There's a drop shadow applied to the top layer.

There's a version 2 of this image, with a different frame, here.

A lovely scape!! The frame works is nice, but perhaps not for this outstanding piece. Perhaps something more textured vs. erratic in sense to create a more subtle and calmness about it. Gorgeous sense of perspective on the take!!

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round?? Picture Purrrfect .

Looks like a beautiful setting, but I'm not sure the sense of motion helps the serenity of the image.

What a lovely place! And a good work too! I like also the composition of a clear and sharp picture framed by dizzy part of the same one ...

Love the dizzy-making frame. The cottage and its environs are gorgeous enough with it, however. Clever capture of water's reflection to add depth and serenity. Anyone looking at this image would want to live there. Very handsome indeed. I checked out the other frame and much prefer this one--but I wonder, does it need a frame at all? The effect is very nifty.
