This menacing tree looks like it was in a battle, it's branches spiky and broken. It's bark looks like it was torn off, with some eriee red fleshy part of the tree showing. The entire area had a gloom about it...I thought I was on the set of a horror movie. I didn't wait around this area too long and made it home alive.

interesting subject. personally, I would of taken it at more of an angle so you could see more of the sky and the upper branches, and would of made the trunk off center. but its a very interesting picture. =) I always appreciate others critiques but if you dont, just ignore this, lol.

This photo reminds me of a scene from the Blair Witch Project.
It was the only film which left me so irate I left the cinema early. However I have no problem with Your upload which does what it says on the title .

And you managed to capture some of that gloom. It's an interesting and unusual choice of subject to photograph, but you did it very well. And the high contrast between the trees and the sky only adds to the atmosphere.
