An old country home that has seen better days. I often wonder about the families that once called these places home. What stories could these old homes tell if they could speak. Lost history throughout our lands. THIS IMAGE IS COPYRIGHTED AND NOT AUTHORIZED TO BE POSTED ON ANY OTHER WEBSITE!

So many deserted houses and barns can be found only in the U.S. Nice capture of this old house which had its own days of glory and comfort. Good presentation too.

A profound thought as we all reflect upon homes we've occupied in the past. Well done, Russ.

I'm not super old but I remember my childhood in such houses like this. Ours was a two story house. That was back in the day of B&W pictures. Neighbors lived farther apart then. Had The party line phones and everyone knew everyone's business. It looks well to be so old. Good one Russ.

This is a wonderful image! It startled me a bit because it has the same look as the watercolors that I enjoy painting. The house looks like it has seem some good times in the past. This is a great shot!!

May be forgotten, but it could look really wonderful as a fixer upper as a get away. Marvelous capture and framing is perfect, love the shot and post work. those walls could tell a lot of stories, hopefully happy.

I love seeing these old houses, Russ. It always amazes me that there are a few stones at each corner holding the entire thing up. Great photo.

Grats on taking 5th place. My favorite thing about this piece is the fact that usually these kind of shots are done in B/W. But you've managed to capture a very rustic and old feel all the same. Well done.

Well done Russ - congratulations.
I really love this image- the windows are like eyes staring blankly from the nothingness inside. (except of course floating memories and ghosts)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
