This image was also taken at pit #1 of the Terra Cotta Soldiers Museum in Xi'an, China. The massive pit #1 is estimated to house about 8,000 life-sized pottery warriors and horses, which is felt to represent the bulk of the army protecting the mausoleum of the emperor. The army was arranged in battle formation, with three rows of 204 archers leading the way at the eastern end, followed by thousands of infantrymen (some in armour and some not), 30 chariots (each pulled by four horses), and flanked by more archers with crossbows. These horses were in the restoration process.

Amazing shot - and so imaginatively taken. They look ready for the race - or indeed, to go into battle. Much appreciated by me!

Fabulous! The perspective is wonderful. They look as if they go on forever and yet you got them to appear almost intimate.
You captured their strength while maintaing their grace and beauty. Very well done.

The perspective you've captured here is great and your choice to have it done in B&W is spot on (there's some good contrast in this shot, although the darks could be a tad darker). Your use of DOF makes for an interesting shot as well, isolating the subject.

However, I do find that you're point of focus could have been placed on a different horse. It seems to me that the point of focus is placed on the second horse from the right (the first dark one that's hidden). Since the intended subject is hidden it makes me want to see what that hidden horse looks like. Perhaps, if the third or fourth horse from the right was at the focal point this would help.

Despite that, I still think this is a great shot, thanks so much for sharing!
