This is the house that was featured at the end of the movie, Twister, located in Eldora, IA. I went knowing it was there to take photographs. Has really been neglected and is appearing worn down, and deteriorating but still able to show the detail in its design. I sort of thought that the 19th century house on farmland looked amusing with a satellite dish next to it. :)

Wonderful capture of the house dear;

The worn out look may be due to the impact of TWISTER :)

Kathy - I does look like the twister may have come a bit too close to this house! But, it is getting a new roof, so there is some care being given to it. The cornice scroll work, and porch details, with the proper, multi-colored paint job, could make this house a show piece once again. It is sadly worn now however. Thad

Lol!! A shame really, regarding the roofing material, that has been sitting on that roof for a couple of years i was told. you should have seen the pic on the real estate site when it was for sale. thats what I was expecting to see, and when i got there, this is what i saw.
I was so disappointed as I thought what a house this could be.
doors were open, you could see inside. the wood trim on the inside was indicative of a late 19th century home. still looked gorgeous!

A wonderful capture of this tired looking old house. Wonderful architecture details and woodwork.

What a beautiful building this is, such a shame its been allowed to go to rack and ruin like that. I just may have to buy it and do it up. Great shot for the competition, good luck.

What a shame someone doesn't fix this place up...I see a lot of charm in this house:)
