This is a picture of Kildalton Cross It is dated the mid 8th century, so is over 1200 years old and it is the only complete, unbroken, early Christian wheel cross to survive in Scotland. I know this is not the best picture you`ve ever seen but as you will see from the cloud the light was terrible (well thats my excuse anyway) but I thought this would be of intrest to someone.

I think the clouds really complement the main subject in this picture. It almost looks as if the clouds aren't real. Very cool photo and makes for a good background.

i think the cross stands up beautifully against the cloudy sky.
the wall, the sky and the cross all go well together. the angle from which you took this shot is excellent.

Hi Ian you are right, this picture is of interest to someone - ME! I really like this picture, and think that the clouds behind it really sets the picture off. I have tried experimenting with similar shots using crosses headstones etc. but nothing really worth showing yet. Nice one. Paul :]

Great composition mate!...the light 'adds' to this...making it seem as if it still in the 8th C.....!..
Nice work!

Amazing piece of history! I am glad you shared it, and even for the weather you have captured it well.
