Captured this mushroom in our backyard this morning (2015, 09-30) around 7:30am. This mushy is a good size of around 10.16cm/4in in diameter. To get this close up and angle I had to lay right down on the ground, thank goodness the mossy ground wasn't wet. If you view in full you can see the moss I was laying on, it was very soft.

I did some post work to bring out the detail and also to brighten up the colour using Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and then used iPiccy.com to bring it down in size.

Hoping to catch up more on commenting today before our company comes for dinner, but have to get things ready.

Everything is crystal clear and beautiful in this shot, Pat. Outstanding color and lighting, too. It would take me a while to get back up after laying on the ground.

I'm glad you went the extra mile; laying on the mossy ground, for this capture, Pat. It's prime mushroom picking season here in Italy and the wild Porcini are delicious!

Very clear shot Pat. Did you use the flash at all on your capture? It really is brightened up very nicely and the color really pops. Good job whatever you did whether it be in the camera or with editing software.
