My wife picked up this painting of "you know who" about 18 years ago at a yard sale. It’s still unframed after all this time. It appears to be Acrylics on a piece of sheet rock (unsigned) and has been on our mantel over our wood stove ever since. It's still hard to walk into the room and not say hi to him...Lol

Nicely composed Joe and I'm going to venture to guess. Is this Mr. Greenjeans? lol Looks like you have some really nice antiques. The shot is really clear and you can see him for posterity even if you move the image from the mantle.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Charlie Weaver (Cliff Arquette)? I thought at first Grandpa Jones, but my money is on Charlie. Looks great, and I can see why you haven't moved him. He fits in perfectly.

I side with phasmid, that's Cliff "Charlie Weaver" Arquette. Nice shot ... sure brings back memories.

I really do not know Joe, but I love the image - it has a warmth to it - love the antiques and surroundings!

And the Cigar goes to PJ and Tom... great guess. It is Charlie Weaver. I think it's nice to remember the the simple times. They are hard to find these days...
Thanks to all.

What a great yard sale find! Charlie fits perfectly in with the other antiques. Me thinks your wife deserves 75% of the marks on this one for designing the set and creating the mood. Beautiful composition on you part. Now I can just picture you sitting back on that well worn, comfortable chair, pipe in hand, listening to the radio while the north wind bows in all that white stuff from Canada, resting from a long day of chopping then hauling in all that firewood and not to mention the many hours surfing Caedes. LOL :) Beautiful post - perfect warm & cozy mood for these dark cold nights of winter.

Grand shot of Charlie laughing at time (the fetching clock). A nice collection of memorabilia you have there!

Joe, there's a wonderful ole time feel to this capture. So well composed with fine clearness. Charlie seems right at home on your mantel. I like the items that surround him, and I'm sure he'd be pleased to know he's still remembered :^>

I need to catch up on things so can't comment too much. But I love all of your fine images :)

I had no idea who "Charley Weaver, the wild old man from Mount Idy" was until I looked him up but I do like this still life picture a lot. The placement of the books and other objects is nice. I would like to have seen the whole of the clock and perhaps lost the lamp from which the warm glow comes.
A very atmospheric capture which I think deserves a higher score :)

Just a great photo Joe. I don't know how I missed it. I remember Charley Weaver well. He had a certain Will Rogers quality about him. Love the scene and compliment your wife on the choice of wallpaper. Put this one into the faves.
