Your image? However ... is ... ... (<--- a lil' 'Sike' thing, just kidding. :oP)
My word ... how many hues and tones of blue did you capture in this shot?? Really a nice element to your shot here. :o)
Annnd ... I like the compoistion too.
If I may be so bold ... I have some suggestions for you ... shall we? Good good.
First, no biggie here ... but, there is a slight ... slight tilt in the horizon, that can be easily fixed in any image editing program.
Don't have one? No worries ... go here for Photofiltre. Widely used on the site by many, including some of our resident heavyweights. :o)
Annnnd ... fairly intuitive and easy to use, and there are some tutorials on the site as well.
Uhm ... going to take a chance, and suggest some other things that come to mind ... please don't take this as a slight against your work. I do like your image, understand that ... however, and this is a compliment in my mind, you have stimulated my creativity, so ... drawing a viewer in and provoking some thoughts are a good good thing.
I am most intrigued by the one lone boat moored to the docks. Love the textures and colours present, as well as the contrasts with the other elements in your photo.
I am thinking that to have changed your camera's position to make that particular boat the main focal point would be a good companion piece to your visual offering here. New boats and old in one image ... then, the classic weather beaten beauty by it's lonesome.
In a nutshell ... experiment and watch your composition. There is lots to see in this image of yours here ... but ... but, sometimes less is more. Just a thought.
That wasn't too too bad was it?
Uhm ... way, wayyyyy ... wayyyyyyy ... too much coffee for me today. Can you ... er ... tell?
:oP
Nice work. Clarity and detail are good, lovely colour contrasts. And but of course, thank you for sharing this one with 'us'. :o)
EDIT: Just reread your narrative, and noticed you do, in fact have an image editing program. Next time, perhaps you could add in your information which one?
I have a great tutorial for Photoshop on simulating a polarizer filter. Would be perfect for your photo here. :o)
Annnd ... here it is, with screenshots. You should be able to work around the concept in another program. Hope this helps. :o)
