A recently discovered species of tree, "Fernus mossius" grows exclusively in southern British Columbia... Nah, just kidding (I sure hope you figured that out by now). It's kinda interesting though... look at the top of the main trunk, which is covered in ferns, which I think managed to grow up the moss by depositing their spores onto higher and higher sections over time.

I know how interesting that is, here in Oregon its very wet a lot of the time, and so we have zillions(haha) of fern trees....even 'fernivy'hhehe..amazing isnt it? you know you can actually remove the fern spores onto a wet paper towel and you will get tiny baby ferns to grow and then you transplant them....keep the towel wet at all times...kewl photo! I like the height the tree is...wow...nice angle By the way? take a look at my photo "Even Our Trees Grow Ferns" in my gallery....smile

I like the perspective you chose to shoot well up into the tree. A shame the sky was a little dreary but I guess those are the conditions that the ferns and moss love. Thank you for sharing.
