It's been really cold in BC for the last week, and the frost keeps on gathering. I like this image as a background, and the three sticks leading to the leaf in the centre seem to draw attention to it.
You know, the shape of that leaf with the ice on it, looks like lips....I love the way the leaf is sort of 'curled' around the branches, yes, very very nice...I love the contemporary look it gives, this would look great framed and hung on a wall...
Hi James: Just thought I would drop a quick note here to tell you how much I like the idea of this image. Unfortunately, my eye wants to wander into the brightest areas of it.
Next time, you have a chance to do an image like this, try putting the subject in the light and letting the background go dark. See if that adds a little Zip to the image.
As it is I'm giving it an 8 only because of the bright background, otherwise it's a 10. Keep up the good work.
Hi James. I agree with the others, in that within this picture, the eye is pulled toward the lighter background instead of the focus point. The beauty in frost, after all, lies within it's glittering, twinkling play with light. Frost in shadow is robbed of most of that magic. However, on a positive note, your photograph is richly packed with a variety of enticing textures. Those are lovely and well captured. Good work!
