i have gotten the idea that you all don't much like pictures of people. i happen to love them. this lady was selling whistles like the one she's holding. at first i wasn't sure she was a lady but someone pointed out her earrings and purse. it was taken on a Dark Rainy day.

This is a fine picture. I like your pictures of people because they seem to have so much character and are in interesting settings. However, as a desktop image it might not be suitable for me since I didn't take it myself and I don't have a story to tell about it. Considered only as a work of art it is great.

This is great. I love it. You always seem to choose interesting people subject's & that draws my attention. Always so colorful & full of character. I also love the duck whistle...would it happen to be homemade? Excellent work.

I love photos of everyday people doing every day things. Not everyone is young, thin and glamorous. These are women of character. These are REAL PEOPLE!!

I absolutely ADORE your people pictures because you always capture them so natural and raw and colorful that gives a lot of feeling behind the photo itself! This one is another example of that talent...it's awesome and whimsical and I love it! High marks from me!

Great shot, JoAnn. Love good people/character portraits.
I would have cropped it much tighter,to just below the hands, to the top of her head, to accentuate the expression. I tried it but the camera quality settings are probably set to standard, and it starts to break up with such a tight crop.
Still a very nice expressive portrait. There is no more difficult subject than people. Keep it up.

She was just mugged, she's blowing the whistle to summon the police. Good shot of her doing it. Were you mugged too?
