i love photographing magnolias because of their color, their texture and their elegance. i think they are the most sculptural of all flowers. when i was richmond last june my friend mimi invited me over to photograph her magnolias, hence the title. everyone seems to like bugs on flowers so here's one for you. please view this full frame.

It's absolutely perfect. That's the toughest colour to retain detail in, and you did it magnificently. Beautiful composition as well. They really are a classic species.
Wish we had them here.

Since my name is mimi (lol), I am excited that I get to comment Jen. I, too, love magnolia's. This is a beautiful photograph. It shows the delicacy of the flower and there is no blinding glare off of those petals. They do have a wonderful texture and the bug you captured is an added bonus. The rich, dark green leaves in the background are an added bonus! Well done my friend. Thank you for sharing this :~)

Beautiful. Well done, especially with the challenge of the all white. Love the little bug on there too.

I agree this is a splendid photo. You captured detail and texture in the white petals and the little bug enhanced the effect by emphasizing how very white they are.

Jeenie, lovely photograph - very sharp and so pure white. Capturing the insect on the flower has made it an outstanding photograph.

Nice capture! Spring is about bugs as much as flowers and they like them as well. Magnolias in bloom are so fragrant!
