What a beautiful combination of colour Jen!!!!.......It is truly 'magical'...You have taken this very well and the close-up composure is 'Spot-On'...............Bob
** For the next few weeks, I will not be Commenting as much as I should, I Will be looking at ALL of your Picture posts...I apologise from the bottom of my heart for this...Things should be back to 'normal' after the holiday period**
Beautiful orange and purple. I can see the veins in the butterfly so clearly. I am glad that you blurred out the background so that nothing could take our minds off this great shot.
HI there Jen....man oh man..everything came together in this image...the color of the butterfly and the angle that it perched on that beautiful purple flower. Well captured my friend, well captured. Everything looks good here.
Thanks for visiting ~happy birth day babies~. We felt very honored that Momma allowed us a moment to see the babies born. We feel as though it is our gift for being hospitable and keeping her and her babies same from predators and the elements. Glad that you enjoyed it :~)
I can just image seeing you creep up that butterfly with your camera and your finger on the trigger, shooting as many pictures as you can before it takes off....
But it was worth it, because it is a beautiful shot!
Maybe I have one useful advise for you when you try this the next time: if you can, choose aperature selection (Av) on your camera and set it to an aperature of 8-10 or 16 (depending on the field of depth your prefer), before you approach the butterfly.
By doing that you will know in advance that the photo will have the sharpness and depth that you require. The camera itself will select the appropriate shutter release time.
I do this myself in a cas like this and it allows me to focus on the composition in the little time I get before the subject disappears.
But maybe this is all old news to you, I don't know...
