the taro plants in the foreground are mature. they are ready to be harvested. the finished product will be poi, well known as a staple in the hawaiian islands.
This is gorgeous Jen. Don't you just love seeing those taro fields when they are at this stage. You've certainly captured a beautiful scene here. The composition, lighting, clarity, color is just perfection. Excellent post and thanks for sharing the beauty with us.
All the wonders you seek are within yourself. Always glad to see visitors at My Gallery and thanks for your continued kind words and constant support. Anita

I need to wear my glasses for these. I read your title as "almost pot" Glad it is a stiking photo of POI . Nice mountains in the background and it looks like it could rain.
I feel like I have a fieldmouse's view of this vegetable field and to get to the other side, I'm just weighing up whether to pongo-jump from leaf to leaf or take the subway route under the leaf canopy.
I love the proportions of this shot, Jen and whilst the view of the mountains and sky is terrific, I do think the way you've captured the sheer expanse of this vegetation is a stroke of genius. Great stuff!
wow this is absolutely incredible!! the colors are so rich and wonderful, i just love the mountains in the background and the angle you have makes them look massive. beautiful lighting, its so dramatic. and the contrast is just perfect. truly a beautiful post, great work! ~abby

the depth on this alone is amazing. the mountains and sky are really pictureque here, and i really like where you placed the horizon here. incredible job!
I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye.
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly.

A fantastic shot Jen .. perfect lighting & the mountains make an excellent backdrop. I learned so much about the taro plants when I was in Hawaii ... I happen to love poi also. Very nice composition.
Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel.

those leaves are so perfect, it almost looks like you painted them on! crystal clear image and the background and DOF is very good What is Poi? is it a kind of salad or do they turn the leaves into a product? well done Jen! Patti

I am still extremely busy with projects but hopefully things should slow down by the end of the summer. Please know that I appreciate you all and will stop by and visit your images as often as I can. My best to all my friends.
Sincerely,

Terrific exposure. Quite a landscape. Looks like a setting that would lend itself to a panorama?! Another majestic shot from you that I can take a mini mind-vacation in. If Caedes in my "travel" agency than your photos are some of my favorite "destinations." (If only you could include a scratch 'n sniff component into your images I'd be set.)
Faves and desktop. That's a 20, can I get an amen? Wow. There is so much interest and excitement in this shot I don't know where to begin so I won't. It's just too perfect. anne :-)
Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)
I just have to say this, but this is definately one of my favorite top 5 wallpapers on this site. This image looks amazing on my moms screen, so, yeah, it's her wallpaper now. (My computer's wallpaper is reserved for a blank screen. =P ) Thanks for posting this- noah.
