With your composition, Jen, it looks like the clouds are being pulled in backwards toward the vanishing point - this is wonderful perspective and those colors on the water -- WOW!
Are you still in Kauai Jen? This is sure a peaceful looking scene and I'd love to be walking along here. Very nicely done. Thanks for sharing the serenity.
You are a really good Photographer Jen. I'll be gentle, yet true. It's a nice photo. Although every beach is a beautiful scene, for great photography one wants some kind of focal point that creates an emotional response. That is, after all, what art is, yes? There are some wonderful redeeming features in this shot - the lovely curves in the shorline, nice rich color, beautiful sky and it's a peaceful scene. It just lacks that element of "wow." Don't anybody yell at me, I'm just stating the facts, ma'am, as whats-his-name would say. I can't comment at all if I can't tell the truth. Love you all, anne :-)
Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)
The name ChuPat is derived from my nickname Chuck and my wife of 34 years name Patti. Her photography will appear on Caedes as well from time to time. I consider myself an advanced amature not anyway close to being a professional. I have just taken photography more seriously since I have switched to digital. My profession has always been associated with pohtography in one way or another. Any criticism I receive will be well appreciated.
Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel.

Nice shot, Jen. I don't argue Anne's point above about the general need for a focal point. It also requires the odd exception to prove that rule. Given that your gallery is full of great photos that obey this rule, I'm OK with this one where I sense the purpose and intent is show the broad extent of this beach, which is magnificient. Cheers! - Dave
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

I saw a needle that winked its eye.
