this was taken at arcadia beach, oregon. it was a very dark and cloudy day. i thought black and white was pretty much the way to present it. please look at it FULL FRAME. thanks in advance for any comments. ENJOY!
A dramatic scene you captured Jen & perfect in B & W. I'm enjoying how the rocks lead up to the gigantic boulder & sky. I notice a little noise / grain, but to me it adds to the moody atmosphere. Excellent! Saved & faved!

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
That is one rocky beach!! I haven't been there in a while, but this is interesting, your deciding on b&w is good but almost not necessary, considering it was dark there to begin with. LOL
I always like how the water pools up around the stones. Nice job on this one. Verena
This is terrific. I love the angle of the shot and the decision to post-process in B&W was a correct one I think. I would love a touch more punch in the sky .. (a little more post-processing). That rock looks like the dorsal of some gargantuan sea monster!

The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking. - Brooks Anderson
i love this. I agree that black and white was a very very good choice. great contrast, i love all the subtle highlights and shadows in the rocks and little pools in the foreground. great composition too. i love this image, great capture!
