i took several versions of this scene but decided i liked this best even though some of you might dislike the mountain in the middle. what i thought was amazing were the sky (blues and whites), the cone (grays and blacks, etc) and the grass (gold). thanks for any comments. ENJOY!

I am a sucker for gorgeous skies like this. I might be crazy, but I see a face in that mountain. Kinda looks like a frog. Please do not call the psych hospital. LOL.

Every once in a while we need a little high middle ground for us to meet WC. Too much left or right in not good for the soul. I like the sky very much and the cone is perfect. Except for having a frog face. lol

I think that the sky makes this picture. i really like how it separates the top and bottom and complements the bottom as well.

If you asked a nine year-old child to draw a mountain this is what they would draw. It is very impressive, especially combined with the amazing sky.

Center works for me as I feel lone mountain is the main attraction. Love the contrast in colors as well as the textures. Those clouds set the scene off superbly. Excellent capture Jen.

Great composition, Jen. The yellow in the foreground leading up to the cone. is great. the sky puts the icing on it.

That sky is really beautiful Jen. The overall effect of this shot is sort of spiritual as if those that passed through many many years ago left their footprint.

Hi Jen,
The colours are fantastic, everything is clear and sharp and I think this is one of those subjects that are tough to compose. I can't see off-centering the cone working in this situation and the only way to get the contrast, yellow, blackish, blue/white is to be far enough back, as in your shot, for the cone to be small in comparison to the whole image. Did you take any that are just the cone and the sky? I'm curious, I reckon the shot you've shared has the best colour contrast, the yellow and black really works, but that cone is SO intriguing it would be pretty dramatic outlined against the that sky.
