Here are some spring tulips to brighten your day. I have provided a few facts about tulips. Tulips are some of the most popular spring flowers of all time, and the third most popular flowers world-wide next only to the Rose and Chrysanthemum. Tulips come in an incredible variety of colors, height, and flower shapes. Some Tulips are even fragrant. The tulip is native to central Asia and eventually made its way to Turkey. But it was when the flower was first cultivated in the Netherlands that it really came to prominence. Currently, there are around 75 wild species of tulips and 150 species in total with over 3000 varieties. Tulips are a part of the lily family and today, the Netherlands is still the world's main producer of commercially sold tulips, producing as many as 3 billion bulbs annually, mostly for export. Enjoy - Spring Has Arrived!!!!!!!

Tulips looks inviting after a long, cold winter Laura.
Yellow makes them even warmer.

So bright and cheerful Laura - they are exploding on my screen. And a fascinating narrative - I knew they were popular did not really know how popular!

Just what I need today yellow and more yellow, as it's such a dismal gray, windy, rainy day here...wonderful detail and closeup of these bright sunshiny flowers.

A top-notch tulip shot Laura. Yellow is decidedly difficult to capture this well and retain the sheen on the petals. I feel I could reach out and touch these blooms. Lovely !!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
