This tulip is my contribution to Foofy Friday and also to celebrate astronaut Scott Kelly's arrival back to earth after spending 340 days on the (ISS) International Space Station. His capsule successfully landed in Kazakhstan on March 2, 2016 and soon after he was presented with a bunch of tulips - he shared that picture on Facebook - Congratulations are in order to Mr. Kelly and this tulip is my tribute to salute his bravery and dedication to science and space travel - Well Done Scott Kelly!!!!!! Enjoy and I'm Wishing Everybody a Great Weekend!!!!!!

This sure is a wonderful tribute to him Laura. I did see that on fb too. I can't imagine what it would be like to be up in space, I remember our landing on the moon so many moons ago. tigs=^..^=

It will be interesting to see all the changes in his body when they compare him to his twin Laura.
They already say he is two inches shorter due to the loss of bone and muscle mass.
This is an "out of this world," shot and dedication.

I believe Scott came back two inches taller because lack of gravity causes the spinal discs to expand. (source: USA Today).

Lovely tulip for the astronaut Laura. I heard that he had grown 2 inches in that time - Due to absence of gravity ? Hope for the short people ? Gourmet foods? :)

Lovely bloom Laura and a wonderful dedication and I agree with R. about the negative space - really makes the tulip pop.
