Captured the corn crib at our local farm market yesterday, September 16 - corn is stored and dried in the crib and used as feed for the barnyard animals - they have a petting zoo - the farm is very family oriented - If I may direct your attention to the sky - needless to say, it is not to my liking - as you well know I love a nice blue sky - at the present time we have been experiencing hazy skies and poor air quality due to the wildfires in California 3,000 miles away.

Looks like a typical scene in my part of the world Laura. Our sky has been hazy as well.
I really like the rubiginous look on the crib.
The elevator adds to the scene.
Wonderful fall scene.
Have a good day.

Interesting scene for me because I have never scene corn stored this way. A lovely countryside scene.

Nice capture, we hardly dry ears of corn anymore as they shell it mostly for their feed. But this is how we use to dry it. I can't even get ear corn anymore to make my Corn Cob Jelly. So sad as it was so good on toast. So sad too, about the sky.

I agree about the sky Laura - we've had hazy skies due to the western wildfires since Sunday - better today as a strong cold front went through last night so I actually saw blue and clouds today. This is a wonderful autumnal shot.

Laura, about the washed out sky: waiting for ideal weather conditions would result in far less photographs, so one has to take it as it comes as long as the result is acceptable.
Your capture however is far more better than just acceptable because of the fine and interesting composition and good colors!

PS: do you know that some of those Californian ash particles ended up high in the atmosphere and crossed the ocean with weather systems, so that even the sky in my small country is influenced by it? Here's THE LINK (only available in the Dutch language)

I sure like the overall scene, and I too have noticed the haze as well.

Thanks for this picture, never heard of a corn crib before. I think the coast mountains duct the Wash, Oreg, Cal smoke along the coast up to Vancouver Island.
