I took this one not too long ago at the beach, some sea creature obviously made these and I thought they looked pretty interesting and decided to take a closer look. It's better in full screen, it's probably not to everyone's liking, please tell me what you think... good or bad. thanks :)

I like it a lot but then again I love the beach too so very well taken, it is kind of weird I guess it is from the sandworm:)) LOL

Hey Jess,

I vote for the sandworm too, although I don't know if they are into stones/shells.
Great picture, some overexposed parts but then again it is a challenging situation.

Thanks for posting

Hey Jess, it's very weird but very nice. You have to take a closer look indeed to appreciate this "sea-creature". The lighting is great. I can almost smell the salty air of the sea! :) Was this also at Ille de Ré?

yep! this was also taken on the island of Ré... and I also think theses were made by sandworms, I didn't know the word in english and didn't want to translate word for word from french and risk making a mistake. thanks for your comments :)

it certainly has created an interesting effect and how neatly made theyall were. Rather than sea shells, it looks almost like grains of sand...you were really in close on this one.

Very strange. I've never seen anything like that before. Good close up of what ever it is.

Very nice lighting. I like how sharp each individual little "cave" is.

Hi jesouris, I think this photo is fascinating!! You also did a great job capturing it, wow. Never seen such a thing, and I've been around the ocean most my life (except now I am landlocked in Canada!!) Worms, hmm. Well, that makes sense. What was the word in French though? I speak French, but English is my native language.. perhaps I'll be able to pick out the equivalent in English? cheers, Quiet PS. Oh, and I put it in my favorites, so thank you again!

great shot. i think some insects make this type of tube as a home in fresh water, i don't know what could do it on the shore. fantastic the way they glue those sand particles together. a very interesting subject and a nice photo.

Putting your pictures in my favorites is the highest honor I can give you. If I do not get to your pictures as soon as you post them, I apologize. I try. Also if I do not respond for awhile it doesn't mean I'm ignoring you, it just means I'm really tied up with life.
