Excellent black and white photography! The clarity is superb. I think maybe there is a bit of tension in the way the mother is holding her hands. Maybe if she grasped the babies feet with her whole hand it would seem more natural. Maybe she thought she would scratch the baby with her fingernails. You did a wonderful job with the capture and the fade to black.

that baby was causing some SERIOUS problems! I don't doubt for a second and can see the tension in how she's holding him because he would not stop kicking! i had to just stare through the camera and try and snap when he stopped moving! haha it was crazy!

The picture clarity is very good, and given the circumstances you describe very good. It is also very emotive. There is a slight bloom on the skin but otherwise nicely presented and composed.
